January 2016 – My Korean Challenge

Guidelines:

Overall, keep a notebook where you will be writing down the nouns, verbs, and any other assignments and be able to keep them organized.

Mondays: learn 3 new nouns of your choice and write them down on the challenge sheet. Bonus points if you learn more nouns and / or write sentences using the 3 new words.

Tuesdays: assignments vary on Tuesdays, so whatever the assignment is, do so accordingly while keeping notes of what you did by writing in the notebook. For learning ‘hanja’, check out https://hanjatime.wordpress.com for help in finding which hanjas to learn.

Wednesdays: learn 3 new verbs of your choice and write them down on the challenge sheet. Bonus points if you learn more verbs and / or write sentences using the 3 new words.

Thursdays: assignments vary on Thursdays, too, so whatever the assignment is, do so accordingly while keeping notes of what you did by writing in the notebook. For example, on the day that asks you to watch a Korean movie, you should try to write a summary of the movie or your review of the movie in the notebook.

Fridays: if you have a smart phone, use a recording application to record your voice speaking in Korean for 1-minute, in whatever topic or theme you choose. Then, email the recorded file to Jini, (shimjini [at] gmail.com) and I will give you feedback! The vocabulary quiz only applies to the students that I tutor, but if you still would like me to quiz you via Skype or email, please send me an email with your 3 nouns and 3 verbs you learned for the week, and we will make it happen!

For any questions about the above details, please email me, Jini, at shimjini [at] gmail.com
